Our Philippine Loop wouldn’t be complete without a side trip to one of the best islands in the country—of course, it’s none other than the famous Boracay Island in Aklan.
After a long ride from Iloilo City and through the lovely town of Roxas, Capiz, we arrived at Tabon Port to catch a 7 pm boat ride to Boracay Island. Since we were riding with a motorcycle, we expected a little delay in our estimated time of arrival as we had to look for a parking area.
We were surprised to experience a swift transfer, and the process was seamless after we paid the fees at the port through a travel agency.
Even when we arrived at 8 pm, Boracay first showed its beauty with the warm hospitality of the locals. Passing by Station 2, we saw the vibrant array of restaurants and stores and tourists walking from everywhere, an exciting scene that makes you realize that you’ve arrived at the island’s center point.
A cozy boutique hotel in Boracay
We decided to spend four days at a boutique hotel in Boracay for a relaxed and cozy break before hitting the road again to complete our 5,000-adventure ride.
Our choice is the Ferra Hotel and Garden Suites, a charming boutique hotel nestled in one of the narrow streets of Sitio Bulabog on the Balabag side of the island paradise.
Ferra Hotel and Garden Suites boasts 43 well-appointed rooms designed with comfort and convenience in mind. Each spacious room features plush bedding, modern furnishings, high-speed Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs, which offer a delightful stay.
Our suite was perfect for a couple, offering ample space to work and keep our belongings organized and tidy.
The superb accommodations are complemented by a team of friendly and attentive staff, always ready to assist and make every guest feel at home.
Food experience at Ferra’s bistro and pool bar
On our first night, we found ourselves at the hotel’s pool bar. We enjoyed dinner beside their pool area and under the starry island sky.
Brick and Basil, the hotel’s signature wood-fired bistro, serves the best food for a wonderful Boracay vacation. Guests can enjoy a complimentary plated breakfast at Brick and Basil during their stay.
We loved the generous servings of Filipino breakfast, a perfect start to our day. Additionally, the rooftop pool bar provides a serene spot to relax and enjoy the island’s views.
Island destinations within reach
It is situated in the right place—just a few minutes of walking from the hotel you’ll find everything you need.
Just a few minutes walk from the hotel, you’ll find a nearby barbershop, a massage spa, a coworking space, or various food options ranging from local to Mediterranean cuisine; you’ll find it all within reach.
Best of all, the hotel is near the beach on both sides of Boracay. It is just a quick 5-minute walk to Bulabog Beach, a hub for water sports activities with a lesser crowd.
On the other side, a short walk will take you to the central part of Boracay and its landmark at Balabag Wetland Park.
Cross the highway, and you’ll discover an array of commercial establishments, particularly the popular shopping area D’Mall.
After exploring the souvenir shops, the famous White Beach of Boracay Island will slowly reveal itself. Spend the afternoon on the powdery sands or sail in a Paraw as you await the best sunset you’ll ever see.
Alternatively, if you are up for some adventure, ask the hotel for some assistance with island hopping activities with lunch and other in-land destinations perfect for couples, families, and even large groups.
You should not miss going to Willy’s Rock, New Coast, Belmont Beach, Ilig-Iligan Beach, and Puka Beach, among others.
Ferra Hotel and Garden Suites is a good mix of comfort, convenience, and proximity to Boracay’s attractions. Indeed, it is an excellent choice for travelers seeking a cozy boutique hotel in Boracay.
